Andrew The Villager

Andrew is a local Main Beach Villager and the brains behind “Tumble on Tedder” – our local Laundry Lounge.

A little history about Andrew…

Andrew arrived on the Gold Coast in 1985 as a licensed plumber from Canberra at 21 yrs old and started his own Plumbing Business specialising in Commercial Irrigation Projects.  These projects were at Movie World, Royal Pines Resort, The Pines Golf Course (Sanctuary Cove), Corporate Centre (Bundall), Laguna Quays, JW Marriott, GC Esplanade and Palm Meadows GC.  He also worked on apartments in Main Beach – Pintari, Park Lane, and Contessa, just to name a few.

In 1993 Andrew started ‘Condom Kingdom’ Retail Stores in Orchid Ave, then eventually had stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and Cairns. He owned and operated these for 14 years until 2007.

Late in 2007 he bought a declining Chemical Manufacturing Business in Yatala with 2 permanent + 1 casual staff member. Andrew went on to grow the business to a multi-million turnover with 22 staff by 2018 and the business was then acquired by competitor in that year.

He has been retired since then and decided Main Beach needed a service like “Tumble on Tedder” and construction then started in September 2021, and opened on 25th January 2022.

Andrew has lived in Main Beach for 5 years now, together with Gina his wife of 28 years, and they have 2 daughters – Madison who is 27 (with a baby due early August) and Olivia who is 22 (a Chartered Accountant). Andrew and Gina have 1 dopey dog named Chilli, and residing currently in The Waratah.
