The fear of the unknown and why would we do such a thing?
To many, I am Suzy Wilson, a colon therapist for 20 years. To some, I am a Poo ‘Doctor’, helping them through many digestive concerns that they are extremely grateful for. For others, I am a counsellor and healer, supporting their healing journey by shifting deep cellular trauma.
Colonic Hydrotherapy (irrigation) is still a therapy that many are unaware of, and those that are, many have heard rumours about the perceived dangers. Often being confused with colonoscopies, enemas, or open system colonics.

It may be surprising to know that ‘colonics’ in some form has been around since the beginning of time. Referenced in Egyptian teachings and the Bible. In those times, cleansing was seen as a way for spiritual alignment. For the past 100 years, it has been used as a therapy to clean the large colon of faecal matter. Much needed in our current climates of processed dense foods and toxicity through chemicals and stress.

With my introduction to colonics some 20 and more years ago, I discovered the severity of my lifelong chronic constipation, which left me often in a state of not being able to move, along with depression, anxiety, and early menopause at 38. I was presented with medications and HRT. Stumbling into colonics changed this just about overnight. It led me on a path to discover more, which I continue to this day.
This journey has offered me the opportunity to develop a technique of ‘colonics’ that remembers the ancient teachings of cleansing, the need for modern detoxing, and the need of our bodies for dehydration and inflammation to be addressed. Growing on my teachings, the Rojas technique and bottoms up understand that working with this technique, all systems and cells in the body are affected offering healing through cellular hydration.
But how? I can hear you ask.
The biggest statement I hear from people about this therapy is the fear they have about someone seeing their bottom, what is put into their bottom, and what comes out of their bottom. After all, this part of our daily life is typically a very private affair.
So just to dispel a few myths:
- We do see your bottom just for 2 seconds.
- What we put into your bottom is a lot smaller than any poop you do.
- What comes out of your body (this is not poop) to us shows us how well you digest your food, what yeasts or parasites you may have, how well your liver is functioning, and so much more.
- We don’t perforate the bowel.
- We don’t take all of your good bacteria.
- We don’t make your bowel lazy.
The sessions are discreet, professional and in fact calming. While on our first meeting we take all of your health history the ongoing appointments are for 1 hr.
Don’t be shy, instead put your health first, be excited about living a long and vibrant life. Can’t wait to see you in the clinic.
