How amazing is Main Beach after the recent rain deluge? There is sunshine, crystal clear water and whales breaching. I could not imagine living anywhere else.  Thinking about whales, Rita and Claire went cruising on the Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching boat yesterday.  If you haven’t been whale watching, I highly recommend it.  Not only do you get up and close and personal with these magnificent creatures, the view of the Gold Coast skyline from the water is amazing.

This Sunday The Polar Bears are playing at Manos.  I’ve seen them play live a few times and they never disappoint.   I’ll share some “teaser” videos on the DMB Facebook page as Sunday approaches.  Sunday Roast lunch can be ordered from 12 and the music starts from 2pm. See you there!

The Village Roadshow Marathon is on Sat 2 – Sun 3 July.  There’s still time to enter.  There are different distances, and you don’t have to be a good runner to participate.  It’s a fun community event right on our doorstep.  Get involved – even if you are cheering from the sidelines. Roads will be closed during the event.

What’s happening on our local food scene? Birdcage Bar and Bistro is closed for renovations until July 1.  I can’t wait to see the new make over – the suspense! Hotshots has a great Caesar Salad special, Shuck Bar Bowls on a Wednesday night is proving very popular and Domanis $17 Lunch special (Mon-Fri) is great value. If you haven’t been to the newly renovated Seaway Kiosk at The Spit you are missing out – it’s also fun to cycle there and back.

We are so happy to welcome Rose Gelateria to Tedder Ave! There will be so many treats. Not sure where to start, but think macaroons, ice creams, decadent deserts, and for like minded villagers additions for home made cocktails!
