Meet Akheel, a Main Beach local and young entrepreneur who developed his passion for photography as a teenager.  At age 14, Akheel commenced taking photos of his friends surfing the local breaks and began posting on Instagram.  Over the past 5 years, he has successfully built up his own personal brand on Instagram @akheelmavjee to over 30,000 followers and sold his photos at the Broadbeach Markets – some of Akheel’s “iconic wave” photos take their place of pride in many beachside homes and apartments.

After graduating from high school in 2019, Akheel founded his own media agency. East Coast Media (ECM);  producing digital content for businesses looking to stand out from the competition, lift brand awareness or increase conversions.  Currently specialising in Real Estate photography, corporate clients include Phillis Real Estate, Main Beach Property Sales,  Ray White Runaway Bay Group, Sanctuary Cove, Avani Hotels and Frasers Property.

With experience in content creation (photography, videography and drone operation – CASA certified drone operator), Akheel is keen to collaborate with other local businesses, offering his services to Destination Main Beach and capturing the fun and fashion on the Long Catwalk.
