Villagers Unite to Take Back Their Community
12 months; Together We Can Shape Our Future
Once upon a time, there was a seaside village paradise called Main Beach. It was filled with really nice active lifestyler villagers who loved their community and the natural beauty that surrounded it. However, they were growing increasingly frustrated with the actions of their local councilor.
Despite being elected to represent the interests of the villagers, the councilor seemed to have no ears for their concerns. He would simply smile and nod, but take no action. They entrusted the councilor to represent their views on the over-development of the area, with too many high-rises being built too close together.
Furthermore, the councilor had withdrawn funding for the annual Flower Festival, which was a beloved event that brought the whole community together. The villagers were outraged and demanded that the funding be reinstated. They wanted to continue running their own festival without the councilors interfering. But instead of listening he redirected the community’s event funds and created his own event, the villager’s were outraged that he had redirected the funds, highjacking the villager’s initiative for his own election aspirations and gain.
The villagers became very sad and frustrated, they wanted a new councilor.
The villagers also wanted the councilors to leave their natural wildlife and quiet nature spots alone. They believed that preserving the beauty of their village was just as important as any development plan.

To make matters worse, the councilors seemed to have forgotten that they were elected to represent the villagers, not use them. The villagers wanted their voices to be heard and their concerns to be addressed.
In response to the villagers’ growing frustration, a new councilor candidate stepped forward – a person who understood the responsibility and privilege of being an elected representative, and who promised to be different. This understanding and attentive individual had a deep conviction and unwavering integrity, and they immediately made the concerns of the villagers their top priority.
With a commitment to work with the villagers, this new councilor promised to fight for the reinstatement of the Flower Festival and to ensure that Main Beach remained a beautiful and natural place. Their dedication and willingness to listen to the villagers’ concerns earned them the trust and respect of the community.
The villagers embraced their new councilor and together, they worked to make Main Beach an even better place to live. With a new councilor at the helm, the villagers finally had a voice and the power to shape their own community.
