I would like to bring something to everyone’s attention.

A fellow Villager Tim Simpson who is battling cancer has just discovered an inconspicuous notice – A4 in size strapped to a pole in the laneway next to Domanis. The notice is also difficult to read and has an incorrect location address on it. An attempt to fly under the scrutiny of our Villagers, hence this post.

Below is a transcript from a recent letter Vodaphone to GCCC CEO Dale Dixon, date March 29th

Attention: Planning and Development
Dear Mr Dickson,

VodafoneUpgrade works to existing mobile phone base station including 5G on the existing building rooftop at 15 Tedder Ave, (Corner Tedder & Woodroffe Ave), MAIN BEACH QLD 4217

I am writing on behalf of Vodafone to inform you of an upgrade to the mobile phone base station at the above address. This will involve adding new antennas and equipment (including 5G) to an existing site. This is deemed to Low Impact Facility under the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018 (“The Determination”)which means it does not require formal Development Approval. Notwithstanding this, Vodafone are committed to ensuring the community is notified of our plans, and we will therefore be undertaking notification in accordance with the requirements of Section 7of the Mobile Phone Base Station Deployment Code 2020
